In 2015, the Montclair Rotary Club raised over $31,000 for charity in a single evening of food, fun, and camaraderie. Over 400 people sampled the creations of more than 40 restaurants and food crafters who all came together in the Rotary spirit of “service above self.” The fifth annual event in 2016 is going to be bigger, better, and raise even more money for charity.
This year Taste of Montclair is moving to the Manor in West Orange. “The Manor, like other Knowles Family Properties, is one of the Garden State’s premier venues for dining and events” said Taste of Montclair Chair John Lee. “After reaching guest capacity last year, and limiting the number of participating restaurants because of space issues, the move was a logical step for Montclair’s premier food charity event.” The Manor will not only allow for greater participation, but give the Montclair Rotary Club the opportunity to host a special VIP reception. Parking is also easily accessible.
Taste of Montclair is scheduled for the first Monday of Daylight Savings Time, keeping with a tradition that started accidently three years ago. “The days are longer and everyone will want to get out of the house.” said Montclair Rotary Club Membership Chair Sandra Soehngen. “Taste of Montclair is the ideal time for everyone to sample their favorite restaurants again or make a new dining discovery. In the weeks after the event we encourage our guests to patronize the restaurants that supported our event.”
Details about Taste of Montclair will be found in the coming day on the Montclair Rotary Club website www.montclairrotaryclub.com. Montclair Rotary Club is a 100% volunteer organization.
