Ramsey Farmers Market 6th Annual Apple Festival Sunday Sept 27

Cool, crisp days are upon us and with fall comes our 6th annual Apple Festival this Sunday!

Apples, apples and more apples. With more than 20 varieties that will be coming to the market in the next few weeks, you’ll be sure to find several favorites – large, small, juicy, tart, crunchy – just ask atOrchards of Concklin, Matarazzzo Farm or Blooming Hill Farm for suggestions.

Lynnhaven Goat Farm suggests pairing their Cinnamon Cranberry Goat Cheese with freshly sliced apples or with warmed sautéed apples. Lynnhaven Goat Farm offers extraordinary sweet and savory goat cheese flavors, yogurt, and goat meat- all from their Pine Bush, NY farm.

Country Lane Cheezecakes returns with their crowd pleasing cheesecake samplers, including Apple Crumb Caramel. Ellen’s copper kettle cooked caramel sauce for her cheesecake gems was such a hit, she is now offering her sauce in jars- perfect over ice cream, in coffee or spread on apple slices.

Don’t forget to stop by our main market tent where volunteers from the Ramsey Historical Association will demo apple cider making with their antique cider press. The little ones can taste and even crank the handle for this interactive fun demo. Ms. Lorraine will be near by to bring another fun craft for the children…apple themed, we’re sure.

Aunt Vicky’s Bickys joins in the fun at our Apple Festival with her popular line of pet treats and has created Apple, Apple and Peanut Butter and Apple Cheddar- even apple shaped!

Spoon Me Soups is a must. You’ll be able to choose from several exotic, gluten free, vegan and vegetarian choices such as Moroccan Lentil, Caribbean Pumpkin, Thai Coconut Carrot and more- all perfect on these fall days.

Congratulations to Angela Logan, who has just launched her new store in Teaneck. We always look forward having Angela join us with her famous, and we mean “famous”, Mortgage Apple Cake.Angela’s rise to fame is not only inspirational but also well deserved.

Quarter Bites joins us this Sunday with their pure and simple nut butters, including their Maple Roasted Pecan Butter- perfect on apple slices too!

Garlic anyone? Joining us for the first time is Rocks and Roots, a fine garlic farm from Warnerville, NY, offering 6 varieties of heirloom hard neck garlic, including German Red, Spanish Roja and their spiciest, Bogatyr- all hung and cured in their 100-year-old barn.

A few updates for you…. Where is our chili?, people ask. Well, John, owner of Homespun Chili, is working feverishly to return to us, hopefully in the next few weeks and just in time for cooler weather. John’s smile warms our hearts and his delicious chili warms our bellies! Hold off until October 4th to bring your knives to market. Edge of Knife will be with us then.

We know fall has arrived when Anthony, owner of Fontanarosa, brings back his popular Pumpkin Ravioli. Choose from scores of fantastic ravioli choices and freshly crafted creamy mozzarella to take home and enjoy.

This is it! Bill Kolvek Perennials wraps up his season at the market. If you are thinking about planting for successive blooming next season or need suggestions for deer resistant plants, now is the time check with Bill Kolvek.

Chef Rama Ginde, Wanna Be Chef owner, joins us for a creative demo at noon and 1PM where she will delight market goers with her culinary talents using fresh, local and healthy ingredients.

Tunes anyone? We’ll how about the great local talents of The Red Apple Rest Band!! It’s a family affair this and every Sunday at your favorite Ramsey Farmers’ Market. Mark your calendars for our annual Wellness Day on Sunday, October 4, where you can get your flu shot, and pickup information about healthy living and physical well being.
