We’re back and opening your favorite Ramsey Farmers’ Market with our popular annual Strawberry Festival this Sunday, June 7 from 9AM-2PM at the Main Street train station!!
Not only will you be treated to complimentary strawberry shortcake served at the train station by the lovely ladies of the Woman’s Club of Ramsey and donated by Inserra Markets ShopRite of Ramsey, but also you’ll find plenty of locally grown, lush and juicy baskets of freshly picked strawberries from our farmers- Orchards of Concklin, Matarazzo Farm, Blooming Hill Farm andMadura Farm, along with a bounty of seasonal vegetables, fruits and herbs.
Many of our fine food vendors will also feature products especially made for our celebration. You’ll find strawberry jams at B&B Jams, all sorts of gluten free baked items at Mostly Myrtles, strawberry fused lemonades from Lizzmonade, and thirst quenching tea drinks from Tea Time.
Even Taiim’s Falafel Shack will bring Tabbouleh w/fresh strawberries and, a new addition this season, the Shack’s Classic and Spicy Falafel Pita Wraps.
Matt, our local farmer from Mahwah and owner of Southtown Farm, will have dozens of his pasture raised eggs for us. Matt also wants us to know that he’ll be fully stocked with Ronnybrook Dairy‘s whole, low-fat, skimmed and chocolate milk, drinkable yogurts and sweet cream butter.
We are excited to have a new addition to our market- Bien Cuit with baker, Zachery Golpher’s award winning artisan breads. With awards such as Best Bakery in Manhattan by both NY Times and NY Magazine, as well as One of the Top Ten Best in America Awards by Bon Appetit for their French style baguettes, what more can we say. Come and experience a little bit of France- via Brooklyn and right to our market.
Also joining us is The Farmhouse Kitchen with lacto-fermented vegetables in glass jars, including 3 kinds of kimchi. Not familiar with the benefits of probiotics-just ask Siobhan.
Ramsey’s own L’Arte della Pasticceria will be with us on the first of every month with Executive Chef Vicki Wells, fine, savory tarts. Crostate with eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes and roasted garlic; leek, bacon and cherry tomato tarts; prosciutto and herb connetini and even cornetti with homemade strawberry preserves- what’s not to love!
The Empanada Lady returns Sunday with her richly filled empanada pockets, including sweet and savory choices. Cynthia often sells out early, so come early for your favorites.
Ever meet a “cracker master”? You’ll have a chance to do so this Sunday when Saratoga Crackersvisits us. Hand-shaped, meticulously seasoned and delicately baked- you’ll find perfect selections to please everyone. There are crackers and then there is Saratoga Crackers! Welcome to Ramsey.
Lively entertainment will be provided by the talented musicians of Music in the Glen, Miss Lorraine will be waiting for a visit from the young and young at heart at the Craft Tent and Mozart Art will create charming face painting throughout the day.
And as if it could not get any better….please stop at the Main Market tent near the train station for a free chance to win a stainless steel grill donated by Home Depot- Mahwah, a Portable Bluetooth Boombox donated by Sharp Corp, or chance giveaways from Ramsey Country Club, Brady’s at the Station and Starbucks. We’ll also have our new Ramsey Farmers’ Market t-shirts available in all sizes for only $10. Father’s Day is next week…hint, hint.
If you have come to our market from near or far, we hope you also take the time to stroll our historic charming Main St. Many of our local businesses want to meet you too, so start at Olive 54 and work your way east. We also want to thank all of our Ramsey Farmers’ Market business sponsors, so please take the time to visit our Sponsor Tent for informational brochures.
