Hop Sauce: A Gathering of Craft Beer & Spice Enthusiasts. This community event by forward-thinking leaders in the Long Beach Island, NJ and will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2015 (rain or shine.) The focus is to bring a new demographic to LBI by breeding culture, and bolstering the local economy during a gorgeous but traditionally slow time of year. In 2014, we held the first Hop Sauce. While we were hoping for a turnout around 1,500, a crowd of 3,000 happy festival goers came through the gates.
The focus of the gathering is to pair local fare with regional, and wash it down with a sampling of twenty delicious craft beers from our area of the country. Spice It Up, located in Bay Village, offers gourmet ingredients including many hot sauces & spiced products. Shore Point Distributing Company offers a world-class line of micro, craft, domestic & imported beer products to much of New Jersey.
A portion of the proceeds from Hop Sauce benefit the Jetty Rock Foundation, a non-profit arm of the locally based lifestyle brand Jetty, dedicated to improving our community through a variety of initiatives. Last year, Jetty Rock was able to create new Jetty Tech Lab in each of the Long Beach Island Elementary Schools with 50 new iPads as well as Chromebook laptops for Beach Haven Elementary.
The relationships between Jetty Rock, Spice it Up, Shore Point, and our other valued partners, coupled with intense planning and marketing of Hop Sauce, are also sure to benefit the Borough of Beach Haven as well as the entire tourist-centric region of Southern Ocean County on a historically slow weekend.
