Bryan Gregg, Chef and Owner of Escape Montclair and a leader in the New Jersey local food movement, today announced that as part of Escape Month, celebrating Escape’s second anniversary, he would hold a month-long bake sale every weekend in April to help end childhood hunger. The bake sale is part of Share Our Strength’s Bake Sale for No Kid Hungry™ and coincides with Escape’s new children-centric menu offerings launching tomorrow.
This year, nearly one in five children across the country struggles with hunger. That’s more than 16 million kids. Funds raised through Escape’s Bake Sale for No Kid Hungry will be used to support Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger in America. Share Our Strength works to surround kids facing hunger with nutritious food where they live, learn and play.
“As a chef who supports locally-sourced food, I’m surrounded by the freshest, best ingredients every day. It sickens me to think about childhood hunger in New Jersey and in America and this month-long bake sale is the first of many efforts my team and I will work on to help fight the issue,” says Chef Gregg.
Guests who visit Escape any weekend in April will be able to buy treats to take home and the proceeds will be donated to Share Our Strength.
Customers passionate about this issue but unable to visit Escape in April can donate through the restaurant’s donation page.
Escape urges fellow chefs and local business to join millions of people across the country who are making a difference by joining the fight against childhood hunger in America. It’s a simple as hosting a bake sale.
Reservations can be made by calling Escape at (973) 744-0712 or via Open Table.
